Cherokee County has two organizations when it comes to law enforcement: A Sheriff's office and a Marshal's office. Both organizations are unique and it is important to understand agency roles so you can connect with the right person.
Sheriff's Office
Who's in charge? The Sheriff is an elected position, serving a 4-year term. Sheriff Frank Reynolds is the current County Sheriff.

Marshal's Office
Who's in charge? The Chief Marshal is Jamie Gianfala - he is selected by the County Manager and approved by the Board of Commissioners
What does this office do?The Cherokee County Marshal's Office is not a traditional law enforcement agency. Although it provides support to other law enforcement agencies within Cherokee County, emergency services are not a primary function of this agency. The Code Enforcement Unit provides enforcement of county ordinances and Georgia state law. They also provide security to other county operated departments when necessary. The Animal Control Unit enforces county ordinances and state laws as they relate to domestic animals.
