Mission Statement
The Mission of the Cherokee County Public Works division is to efficiently and effectively maintain the county's roadway network to provide a safe and pleasing travel environment for all users of the system. The Public Works division is responsible for managing and supervising all roadway maintenance for the county's road system and related work on all county property. This includes grading, drainage, and pavement maintenance and improvements.

STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
Some roads in Cherokee County are not maintained with county resources. These are typically Highways and State Roads often designated with road signs depicting the route number inside a silhouette of Georgia. Highway examples: 140, 108, 92, 20, 5 and Interstate I-575.
